Finished our Bench review today. Went through where all our clothes and personal items will be kept.
Then had a Virtual Reality lab session. We practiced our first day EVA stuff. It’s good to use the Virtual Reality for a couple of reasons, one- you get to practice different body orientations which you don’t normally do in the pool as much. Second, it’s good to get you disoriented! You have a very small field of view in the VR lab and when you are working in a night time period you can easily "get lost" outside of the station. So, the more I practice this hopefully the less trouble I will have for real.
I am officially on birth control! Yup- I am going to be wearing these glasses on orbit that are officially birth contol glasses! These glasses are being tested by Mike and I. We have the ability to adjust the strength of the lenses which makes these glasses pretty big and well not too attractive.
Your eyes are filled with liquid so our eyes do end up changing shape and changing our vision when on orbit. Normally, the eyes go back to normal when we come home. These glasses will allow us to play around with lenses and see what works for us and see how much of a change has occured the birth control is just a bonus.
